5This product is a force to be reckoned with  Sep 23, 2010
By B. Lofton "Entertainment Savvy"
When I opened the box to this Eureka Lightweight Easy Clean Upright Vacuum yesterday, I briefly thought I had purchased a toy-- the vacuum is feather light, the yellow is that of Tonka truck and the size of this machine is comparable to a child's baseball bat. After an electrical current and igniting the power button, I was so very satisfied to discover that this was no Easy-Bake Oven and it could probably inhale a toddler if I tried.

As soon as I unboxed the product I took to it to my living room floor and the two weeks build up of shedding dog, sloppy-eating residents (not myself, but my fiancé) and cat-tracked litter. After about one minute purifying a 5 foot square area, I took a peak into the machines dust cup/ filter compartment. This is where things got good (depending upon how you view the circumstance).

Viewpoint 1: Both the filter and compartment space were full of filth, which was very rewarding and proved to me the vacuum suction was legitimate and could pull up the accumulated food crumbs, dirt, and dog hair. DISCLAIMER: My dog has short hair, I do not know if it could handle a long-haired dog's alopecia.

Viewpoint 2: After cleaning this small area of carpet, dirt and hair heavily coated the filter. The area I was cleaning looked only slightly messy to the naked eye, so I'm lead to believe that frequent filtering and emptying will be necessary even on a daily cleansing basis. I will probably have to do this a few times per room, which is fine with me because it at least proves the grime is gone.

-----Other Features to consider-----

This was my first and only experience thus far, so I can't say much about longevity. But there are some other things to point out for those interested in this product:

1) The Floor suction tool is small

It's about 6 inches in length and ½ inch in width. This means it may take a while to vacuum a large room. But it's also very convenient for storage. It also has no locking feature like many standing vacuums, so it's kind of tricky to get the machine to balance idly. This is slightly annoying, but not a big deal.

2) The cord is short

I'm a college student in a smallish apartment and don't mind occasionally relocating the plug to another outlet. Eureka has made good cord storage notches on the back of the vacuum; it's easy to wrap and good for storage.

3) Crevice tool and Floor tool

They are both interchangeable at the base. You can extract the stick for the Floor tool; retract it to use the Crevice tool as a hand vacuum. This makes it a really cool, easy to handle 2-in-1.

4) My carpet is very thin

It seems to suck all light filth from my carpet, but I do not know how well it would do on thicker carpet. Note I said `light' filth. As I've stated, this vacuum is small and inexpensive. It would probably not fare well with really nasty floors.

5) The price

It's [...] bucks. I work at a retail store, and when a customer came in and had me order a $150 vacuum for them. I had to dig deep and embrace the most evil, capitalistic components of my soul in order to keep from truthfuly advising them, "Leave this store at once, and go to Amazon.com. There you will find a vacuum for 1/5 the cost of this one. Also, this vacuum I'm about to sell you is probably a piece of doody. Go now. Leave at once. Buy from Amazon.com."

*I hope this review will cleanse my soul and collection of karma gained from ^ this heartless transaction*

Thus, I conclude. I don't have a problem with this vacuum. In fact, my initial thoughts are that of astonishment for such a price. I really like Eureka's design on this one and the satisfaction that comes with continually dumping the dust cup and cleaning the filter. I hope my opinion does not change. But if it does, I will post for you here.

5Best $20 I've spent in a while  Nov 22, 2007
By Clint Martin
My house is mostly hard floors, so with 2 long-haired dogs and a cat there is hair everywhere if you don't clean it up every day or two. I bought another stick vac (Dirt Devil Power Stick) for $45 but it didn't convert to a handheld for doing corners and it was very powerful but the equally powerful exhaust just blew the pet hair everywhere. This little $20 vacuum is just perfect though. It's not a powerhouse but it has plenty of suction to pick up pet hair and most everything on the hard floors. The option of using it like a dustbuster is great for hard to reach areas and it's small enough and light enough to hang just about anywhere. Great product for the price.

5Much Better Than The "Featherweight".Great for R.V.  Jul 09, 2007
By C. Wood
I bought the Boss stick vacuum and the Featherweight vacuum because they were both priced the same and I couldn't decide between them. The Featherweight model had a lot of rave reviews about it but, having bought and used both, I think the Boss vacuum is SO MUCH better! The Boss's handle telescopes back into the unit; the Featherweight detaches. The Boss vacuum has more pick-up ability. The floor attachment of the Featherweight, when used on short carpet, lifts up on the backstroke; the Boss model does not. I put the Boss model in our R.V. to do quick pick-ups while on our trips (we bring our cats and needed a vacuum to get up cat litter as well as dirt)what a lifesaver!!! I kept the Featherweight in our house to do stairs and quick small clean-up jobs on our tile floor but, I wish it was a Boss model instead then I'd be really happy!!!!

5Great Little Vacuum!  Sep 08, 2007
By L. Powell
Got this based on the reviews. This is a handy little vacuum for my Kindergarten classroom. It's not heavy duty---more like a dustbuster with more attachments and an extendable handle. Works great for quick clean-ups and I love having the crevice tool.

4Really great vacuum for the price!  Jun 09, 2008
By B. Lois "amazon addict"
I just got this in the mail today and used it on my Pergo floors and area rug. The suction is great! I am pleasantly surprised! A great vacuum for the price. I have to agree with other reviewers, the cord is very short. I may just use an extension cord with it all the time. The vacuum even reaches corners and edges well. As I was vacuuming the floor my toddler dumped the remains of the pretzel bag on the couch, I took off the bottom piece and it worked great!
In total you get 3 pieces: The trunk of it with extender arm, the bottom floor piece, and the crevice attachment. A small vacuum, doesn't take up much space, and so far sucks better than my larger more expensive vacuum!
I'll update my review if my opinion changes!
