Why buy anything else? Jan 28, 2007
By nerdsquared
"^2"
Pros
- Easy to change bag. (I consider bagless worthless.)
- Much quiter than my previous Dirt Devil vacuum
- Cleans better, too
- Inexpensive (I paid $40 for a refurb)
- Most trusted and reliable brand
- Assembly instructions actually helpful
- Spinning brush does not touch floor when upright (so it doesn't mar the rug if it's left running)
- Reasonable cord length (not too long or short)
- Just three attachents (who ever uses 12 on-board attachments?)
- Light enough to carry up/down stairs
Cons
- It takes some effort to get the hose back in
- Headlight could be brighter
- Cord is not auto-rewinding
- Bags are smaller than Dirt Devil, though replacements are cheap

LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMP!!! Apr 22, 2010
By Devra Eureka 4750A LightSpeed Upright Vacuum
THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE "EUREKA 4750A MAXIMA"!
What a pleasure to simply pull out the bag - not having to even touch it! For me, this feature was my FIRST/B-I-G "attention getter"! After owning/using 3 different Eureka BAGLESS models, I finally decided to return to one of their bagged models. The bagless Eurekas were powerful, of course (they were, after all, Eurekas); but when emptying them, I had to use both a mask and gloves - out on the patio; and, still at times this was enough to trigger an asthma attack - TOO MUCH DRAMA (AND S-O-O-O-O MESSY)!!!
This little easy to handle "LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMP" is CHEAP BUT POWERFUL - picks up well on CARPET AND BARE floors. (From bare floors it's picked up hair, bobby pins, paper scraps, Cheerios, paper clips, and dirt!) I, actually, find myself almost looking forward to "bag emptying time". What a difference! Hopefully, Eureka will continue making this (or an upgraded) model for many years to come. For just $50 or so, I will gladly purchase another one (or two or three) when needed. The 4750A meets my every expectation (and more) - very pleased with it's performance. I highly recommend it - especially if you are considering switching from the "BAGLESS NIGHTMARE"!!!
UPDATE (01/05/09): I am both baffled by and sorry about the experiences of the "1 star reviewers". It's like reading about an entirely different vacuum. Perhaps they just got LEMONS! Nonetheless, it's been almost 2 years since my initial review; and, I continue to stand by it. My "Lightweight Champ" is still quite powerful, and I have NEVER experienced it blowing ANYTHING about. On second thought (and in all honesty), I take that back; once or twice, when the bag was PAST DUE for a change, there was a little blowing. However, the issue was quickly resolved by inserting a new bag! Bottom line is this is simply a GREAT vacuum (with which I remain VERY PLEASED)! If you do buy one, and have a "blowing" problem, my advice would be exchange it for another one. By the way, assembly was NO problem, at all, for this soon to be 62 year old granny!
UPDATE (08/06/11): ***PLEASE NOTE: My review is for the Maxima "4750A"! I'm not sure if it is the same machine as the "LightSpeed"; nor, why Eureka would have 2 different names for one product (if it is)!

To read more "4 and 5 star" reviews/ratings, see the two you will find in the right column of this page (or search the "home and garden" section vs this reviews page, which is located in the "home improvement" section, for some strange reason. Additionally, Amazon has recently changed the picture of this vac to "SOMETHING THAT IT IS NOT AND THAT DOES NOT EXIST", calling it "Electrolux #4750A. To confirm this, I did a web search for Electrolux #4750A; only this site has Electrolux as a product, rather than a merchant who sells Eureka Maxima 4750A.)
UPDATE: January 29, 2010
I notice that NOW (don't know how long) Amazon has only the wrong picture attached to these reviews - "No Title". This is NOT what this vac looks like; and, the ONLY resemblence is the color - yellow!

Great Value Aug 01, 2007
By P. Saadallah A really good basic vacuum for a reasonable price. I got tired of replacing my expensive vacuums every year or so, and I decided to buy something less expensive. This one's great. The main downside is that it's a bit loud, but it works very well. The large wheels make it easy to maneuver too.

This one blows--worst vacuum I've ever owned Aug 28, 2008
By MeMineNoMommy It blows the stuff it's supposed to suck up. It blows stuff into my legs (I suppose if you don't wear shorts you might not notice). It blows stuff all over the room. It's not fun chasing a dust bunny with a brand new vacuum. So I'll most likely give this one away and fix the old vacuum that I was replacing. I'm so glad that I didn't give that one up yet.
DON'T BUY THIS ONE. Seriously, I thought the one bad review was just a crank, but now that I own this machine, I wish I could give it 0 stars.
