Beware of Air and Water, Inc. Aug 13, 2010
By Tom3696 I want to warn anyone who may be thinking about ordering anything from Air & Water, Inc. We ordered this NEW portable air conditioner from Air & Water, Inc. and when we finally received the item it was a USED air conditioner. The air intake panels were covered in a thick layer of dust which indicates it has had considerable use. There was also no documentation with this item...no owners manual, no warranty card, nothing. When we contacted this company, they refused to reimburse us for the $39.95 shipping charge we paid to have the item shipped to us, they also refused to cover the return shipping charge and they intend to charge us a 15% restocking fee which amounts to $59.85. This means we now have a choice of paying for a new air conditioner but keeping this used one which may or may not even work or pay $139.75 for absolutely nothing. In my opinion, this company is scamming people and should be prosecuted! BEWARE!

Loved it! Jun 10, 2010
By S. Schoch I've been satisfied with this unit, it's easy to vent through the window. The portability is a plus, the unit can be moved to where it is needed. Very effective and efficient. It cools quickly and the set up is straight forward. Basically just plug in and turn-on. This product was exactly what I was looking for. It is humid here, and I needed a unit with a strong de-humidifier. We don't have a large house so there was no need to have a central unit put in. This is great product that cools a medium size room well. We had one in our bedroom and then bought another for the office. My bedroom is now a comfortable place to both sleep in and read, relax, etc. The unit is not too noisy. I can still see out my window unlike a window unit. I like how I haven't had to empty out any water buckets. Would definitely recommend this air conditioner to others.

Works very well both for cooling and heating Jan 22, 2012
By Pipe DZ We use this for a home garage bay converted into an uninsulated office of about 150 sq ft.
- Cools very well in summer (hot dry summers in Sacramento (100 degrees pretty common)), quickly bringing the room down from hot and stuffy to pleasant
- A nice feature is it also heats in Winter. If its below 40 outside in daytime it won't keep room toasty but otherwise does well.

It does the job Aug 20, 2010
By PB PROs - Easy to setup. The window kit was too short for one window and too long for another (it expands from approx 21 in. (1 piece) to around 42 inches (with both pieces), so I cut down 1 piece with a small skill saw and installed in the smaller window. - My unit arrived very quickly and was well packaged. - It does cool a moderately-sized room well, and a small room, really well. - Not too heavy and easy to move around on its rollers. CONs - Noisy (like a window unit at a motel). I haven't tried the heater yet, but if it is as noisy as the A/C I will just pack it away until next summer. - Takes a minimum of approx 2ft x 3ft of space around the window, though I suppose you could cut the vent hose down and reduce this somewhat. - Since it is a dehumidifier, you have to manually drain the tank of water buildup. You can set up a continuous drain with the tube they give you, but because the end of the tube needs to be lower than the outgoing connection (which is on the bottom of the unit), you would probably want to put the unit on a small table. I live in a dryer area so don't know yet how long it can go without draining. OTHER INFO --The hose that connects the unit to the window expands to around 5 ft long (the unit works more efficiently if you keep this as short as possible) and the electric cord is around 6 1/2 ft long. --There is a non-heater version (12000e) of this unit but with free shipping this one was the same price.
