Nice but has some drawbacks Apr 24, 2011
By Rajiv It is a nice wine cooler with sturdy construction, nice wooden racks, and space for oversized (Rhone Style) bottles. It makes a growling sound when the compressor kicks in, sometimes it goes on for a few minutes. The red wine temp. zone cooling is not as effective, it hovers around 64 deg most of the time even though I have it set at 56 deg.
Beware of this design fault:
At the bottom of the door (right hand side of the cabinet) there is a plate that has a bolt/screw and a nut that holds the door. This screw protudes out and hits the floor and scratches the floor when you move the cooler. It scartched my nice wooden floor when the cooler was delivered and I tried to move it to the right spot. With this high quality of cooler, I am dissapointed with this seemingly obvious design issue. I had to go to the hardware store and buy a plastic cap to cover the screw and use tape to keep the cap in place to prevent it from scratching the floor.
